Hello all my lovely choir family, Happy Birthday to you both. I am still going to work daily and never been busier very emotionally draining trying to keep my people safe, so many changes and so difficult trying to make sure people adhere to the rules especially the younger guys! My son has had the virus too but much better now. I like others joined the Gareth choir but a 5.30pm start was no good for me as I am still at work so glad to hear I’ve not missed anything. Missing my 2 grandkids the worst thing is they don’t interact with FaceTime so a bit upsetting but it’s still lovely to see their wee faces as they bounce round the living room, not easy keeping them both entertained. My daughter in law is due her 20 week scan and has to attend alone but a small price to pay to keep the NHS safe. My sisters daughter in law works in ICU in Aberdeen so really worrying being on the front line, they were however prepared for Prince Charles! I will be working from home this week as I have a bad head and chest cold so can’t be too careful. Keep singing, keep smiling – every day is another day closer to freedom 🙂 Stay Home Stay Safe and keep well xx Fiona

Eleanor I’m so glad your son is recovering well it must have been so worrying for you all.xxx Belated happy birthday to all the birthday babes. I tried Gareth as well he couldn’t keep my interest. I am doing the same cleaning and doing the garden try to keep fit with exercise and dance with Otti and her partner, Joe wicks is a bit hard going. Missing my grandchildren greatly although what’s app is a blessing with face time one is in Australia one in London both in lockdown. I am missing the choir and the company but still trying to keep up with my singing voice. It’s lovely to hear how you all are . Lets hope things get better very soon stay well stay in stay safe .xxx Vera

Hi everyone
It is good to have this shared chat thank you Jan.
Like everyone else I gave up on Gareth too! We have been spoiled with Ekeanor.
I have cleaned this house within an inch of its life and have done a lot of baking. Garden this weekend!!
Doctor phoned me yesterday and because of my bad immune system I have under no circumstances to go outside the house so doing a lot inside.
Glad all is well with Andrew Eleanor and so sorry your holidays have been cancelled.
I am missing the choir and all of you. Stay safe and well. Love Jean X

Hello everyone what a good way to keep in touch. It’s a funny old time. I have made a list of things to do but still manage to find an excuse not to do them! Next week will be better Have also been watching Gareth Malone’s choir, kind of lost interest this week not really a fan of Elton’s I’m still Standing even though the altos had the tune! Am missing the choir and the company, hope you and your families all stay well and that it’s not too long before we’ll meet again (cue for a song!) Jessica x

Hello ladies and belated happy birthday Carolyn

Great way to keep in touch and hear how everyone is doing during this strange and difficult period in our lives. Like others I joined Gareth’s online Great British Choir but found it to be a bit boring and frustrating…….much prefer Eleanor’s warm ups. Have spent a lot of time cleaning out cupboards (5 bags ready for charity shops if they ever open again), cooking, baking and generally cleaning. My house has never looked so clean. We go out walking most days then home by 5 o’clock each evening as that is wine time. Missing my 2lovely grandchildren so much but we FaceTime most days. Have had my 94 year old mother staying for a few days but she decided she missed her own house?? Wa fed up having everything done for her. What can I say? Stay safe ladies and keep well.

Thank you Eleanor yes a very strange birthday today but as you will all agree thank goodness for chat groups internet etc it has fair brightened my day. So sorry to hear about Andrew Eleanor must have been so worrying for you. Glad he’s on the road to recovery. I’m working from home so still keeping busy. Just waiting patiently to hear if my daughter will get back from Italy where her ship has finally docked. Keep your fingers crossed for me everyone. Take care and keep safe

Hi everybody,
This certainly is a surreal time and I hope you are all keeping safe and well. I agree Jan that singing using whatsapp is really difficult, I’m finding teaching piano this way is working really well and I’ve never had so many pupils want to continue through the holidays!! I was going to look at the Gareth Malone choir, but don’t think I will now.
I had my birthday on Wednesday, one I’ll not forget. I’m sure when this is all over we’ll all be having plenty of parties etc!!

We’ve been FaceTime calling and have a family WhatsApp group. I also tried the Gareth Malone thing but it was mind numbing. The Alto line consisted of no more than about 3 notes. Nothing new then!

Online choir practice for us is not doable due to latency on the line. We’ll need to just keep practicing ourselves.
